I always found the idea of arranged marriage super fascinating. Obviously, I wouldn't wish it upon myself but when looking at it from a cultural view point it is so interesting.
In the story we meet Riyha whose parents are very eager to find her a suitable match and marry her off. She however is not fond of that plan. Riyha wants to further her studies abroad and focus on herself. Her parents set up meets for potential husbands and Riyha declines all until she meets Rahon. But it's not what you think! She gets him to go along with a plan of being married for a year to get her parents off her back. But this marriage is fake. After a while they are forced to live together and that's when little feelings start trickling in! Will Riyha fall for her fake husband?! You must read to find out! I thoroughly enjoyed the book, the characters are great! Riyha is so witty and a real firecracker. Riyha and Rahon undiscovered chemistry provides the reader with entertaining banter. I would recommend this book to anyone!

Married in Name edition by India Daram Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Don't have appropriate words to describe my disappointment with this book.
Good read
good premise, but unfortunately the writing needs a quite a bit of development. It did not ensnare this reader with romantic drama at any point, as it ought to have done.
It starts slow. So slow, I stopped reading but I had a lazy Sunday and thought why not give it another try. I'm so glad I did because I fell in love with the story. I will warn readers there are typos (such as "that I had you lost to her,’ she whispered.") but it doesn't take away from the story.

Also for the American readers, the book is written in British English therefore those are not typos.

I will definitely read again and I would recommend.
In “Married In Name”, Riyha finds herself in that very sticky predicament of wanting to be free to live the life she so desperately desires, but she is not yet ready to break free of her good intentioned yet still meddlesome parents maneuvers to “marry off” their wayward daughter.
A convenient solution to the situation arises when Riyha enters into a marriage in name only to Rohan, her parent’s choice as a suitable husband. The conflict that ensues between them as they realize that marriage in any situation can be tricky especially when feelings become involved is the true meat of the story. As these two characters navigate the murky waters of building a relationship between them in the wrong order, so to speak, is where the true character development between them takes place.

The premise for the book on a whole is a good one, the witty yet sometimes snarky exchange between the two can be daunting at times and hard to follow but doesn’t deter from the story. Overall an enjoyable read.
In the beginning of the novel, it seems that Riyha is the typical career girl in London, enjoying a high-paying job, and content to be on her own. Soon, it becomes apparent that Riyha’s life is highly complicated with the introduction of her new next-door neighbor Nick, and the return of an ‘old’ friend, Rohan. Things get soap-opera complicated in this enjoyable novel about family, independence, and 2nd chances. Married in Name is an enjoyable romantic jaunt filled with characters that speak and act wittily and realistically. It is a wonderful blend of Indian tradition and London posh. A great cozy read by the fire on a winter’s night. Highly recommended.
An Indian girl Riyha wants to pursue higher studies in a foreign university, but her parents won’t allow her. They want to fix her marriage with Rohan, a wealthy businessman. During their matchmaking meeting, she makes a deal with him for fake marriage, so that her parents allow her to pursue studies. She got him to agree to divorce her after one year. They live in London separately. After completion of one year, due to unexpected visit of her parents, she has to stay again in her fake husband’s house for few weeks to prove to them that they are still married. Staying together for few days changes her plans of divorce. She wants marriage to continue but when she finds out that her husband has other girlfriend, she becomes jealous and wants to get away from him. The tussle of staying together and divorce goes on until she finds out the truth. The story seems like a Bollywood movie story having all the elements of unconditional love, career consciousness, romance, jealousy, drama and suspense. I found the beginning of the book very interesting and the secret of the other girlfriend in the later part.
