The author has some interesting concepts, and I appreciate his sense of humor.This was very close to being a 4-star for me, and I have, in fact, downloaded more of this author's collections to read.
Why 3 stars instead of 4? Mainly because the work comes off as being somewhat rough and unpolished. The writing seems a bit jerky, clunky, stilted...it's hard to express what I mean, but there is writing that flows so easily that one forgets one is reading, and there is writing that makes one conscious of the effort involved. It's not bad, per se, or difficult to read, it's just missing a certain rhythm and flow.
A sense of humor is obvious throughout most of the stories and I found it delightful. The last story in the collection was my favorite, and the line "So much for sweeping; how are you with a mop?" had me in fits of giggles. (Trust me, it's funnier in context.)
There are also technical problems with spelling, grammar, and consistency. A character's name is Elysia for most of the story, but Alysia in two places. I spotted errors such as "what's your's"; "non-agression"; "I read you thoughts." As I frequently note in my reviews, these are issues that affect my level of enjoyment of a book and opinion of its quality.

I liked the buildup that the writer has for the stories, but then all the sudden you are at the conclusion. There is no middle. So you are going along, enjoying the story and then it's over unexpectedly, and your sitting there thinking, how did we get here?
Unlike electronics where you get what you buy, this free edition was packed with a few stories worth paying for. I especially enjoyed the story about vampire hunters. Not my most favored genre but well written. I am looking forward to reading the rest of the collections in this series. If you enjoy science fiction, you'll like this book of shorts. It's worth the cost (lol) and well worth your time.
